"Proof" Washington July 12th, 2014 • Fremont Studios

Proof is Washington's Featured event for local craft Distilleries that make up the Washington Distillers Guild, which is the Largest of its kind in the nation.  In it's second year, this event is hosting 40 local craft Distilleries producing Vodka, Whiskey and Gin just to name a few of the spirits.  Unlike Washington Wineries where you will find "pods" of tasting rooms clumped together for multiple tastings in an afternoon, these fantastic spirit houses are located all over Washington in neighborhoods, city centers and outlining country towns so having 40 in one place is a rare pleasure!
Never really liked Gin or Vodka?  I would venture to say you have never had a local craft then.  These guys will shock, amaze and redefine what you thought a Spirit should taste like and open your taste buds up to a whole new world of distilling.  Grab a friend and come experience another side of Washington.  Oh and did I mention they are paring with some of our amazing restaurants to tantalize your taste buds even further? ;)

And plan ahead so you can be safe and happy ~ might i suggest using Uber to get to and from?  Never tried them?  Click ( or copy and paste) this code on your smart phone for $30 off your first ride! Uber.com/go/sociallysavvy14

Woodinville Wine Country Passport 2014 ~ Last Call

Passport 2014.  This will be my 3rd year going, and sadly the final year of this event.  But with that said, it is Defiantly not to be missed!  With a group of friends or out of town family visiting the social experience alone makes it worth it, as avid wine drinkers of all ages come out to taste and share in the event.  This years event is again a 2 day event concentrated in Woodinville wine country.  Featuring over 30 winery's, you have 2 basic areas to check out….The Warehouse District and the Main Hollywood House area.  Each offers dozens of winery's within walking distance, and during this event for one price, you can go around and taste at the participating winery's for a very fun and social experience!  For me personally I typically take one area Saturday and one area Sunday and end each evening with a lovely dinner at one of the fantastic restaurants there!  My favorites are Willow's Lodge  &  Sora Sushi for snacks, Mazatlan mexican food and Spazzo's Redmond for Dinner!
My advise…. have a service like Uber, drop off and pick up so you can enjoy stress free, and plan to pick up wine you buy later or just ship it to your house! For more information and tickets goto http://woodinvillewinecountry.com/passport-last-call/

"Spotlight on Seattle" The Who's Who of Networking May 8th 2014

As you get to know me you will find out that i am NOT a big fan of Networking!  To me, the term is usually grossly dumb-ed down and equates to kindergarten when compared to Socializing, BUT I must say that this Event is probably one of the Most eloquently done Networking events of the year!  And here is why…..
First off I don't really feel like this should be classified as a networking event…. It is too well done.  From the location, to the beverages, sponsors, people in attendance and of course the Host's, it is one of the classiest events of the year, and in my opinion (which, i will admit is a bit bias) truly shows what creating a great Social event can look like and how business can NATURALLY be created out of it!
Drop into a time machine for a moment and let's head back about 100 years ago.  There was no networking.  Only people taking time to get to know one another…. building relationships…. creating opportunities and working hard.  The majority of People didn't make a habit of looking for short cuts or think to assume they deserved anything they did not work hard for!   Hard work and time put in was respected and people strove to show that they were worthy of EARNING respect not demanding it.  So when people got together at event's, drank wine, shared in a cause and SOCIALIZED,  it was not surprising when business deals, new concepts and causes were created from these events.
So what is the difference between Networking and Socializing?  Time, attention, service and genuine interest.  Socializing is very little to do with you….. it is about paying attention to those around you…Serving those around you….being genuinely interested in those around you and sharing who you are not necessarily "what you do".  And THIS is where Lloyd A Ball & Sasha O'Leary always seem to get it right.
You will notice a distinct difference in most of the people whom attend this event, and the self absorbed, entitled, i want over night success people stand out like a sore thumb.   People dress according to the requested attire, enjoy learning about each other and generally "Make the event better because they were there!" (Socially Savvy's Tag phrase)
This event, held in a lovely space, with lovely people, chatting on all kinds of topics should not be missed.  And if you are new to the Social Scene it is a wonderful place to come dressed beautifully, smiling listening and learning.  Because Everyone appreciates someone who can listen.  ;)

Cavalia Odysseo..... More than just a Horse show

We are often looking for those unique events and experiences that will take us to another place or get us to see something in a different way, and Cavalia Odysseo is by far, one of those events!

Yes, there are horses.....66 beautiful horses spanning several breeds.  And entertainers.... Acrobat's, Dancers, Horse riders, musicians and Singing.  But just to read those things can not and does not allow for the depth of emotion and feeling of the opening act has to offer alone.  It is truly an awakening of senses and awareness that is fantastic for the entire family!  For a 3rd or a 4th date....a provocative conversation during the intermission in the VIP room while enjoying dessert is sure to follow.  It touches the heart and the soul in such a wonderful way that you will want to share it with your friends.

There are no bad seats in the house so a GA (General Admition) ticket is an economical way to not miss the show!  But, the VIP tickets come with Center-row seats, VIP Pass, Parking at the White Big Top, Buffet with a wide variety of complimentary foods served before the show, Wine, bubbly and beer at will, Dessert Buffet, coffee and tea served during intermission, Exclusive stables tour after the show and Odysseo souvenir from there boutique.

Located at the Marymoor Park in Redmond, this is an exceptional event to attend!  For more information goto http://cavalia.net/en/odysseo
